Personal Message from Chaske Spencer Setting the Record Straight
To all the wonderful, incredibly loyal fans:
For those of you that read that I was in rehab, I wanted to make sure you heard the truth from me directly. Yes it is true, that I was in rehab, however it was over 19 months ago, long before NEW MOON was even on my radar. It was a pivotal time in my life where I was lucky enough to have supportive friends and family to help me get healthy. I am grateful that I have been clean and sober now for 19 months and cannot imagine my life if I had continued using drugs and alcohol. Almost everything else that was written about this is blatantly false and we are exploring our legal options. That was my past, and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to create a new future for myself. I encourage anyone who is in a similar place to seek support from their friends and family and know that without them, I would not have had the chance to be where I am now.
I want to thank all of you for the support you have shown, and continue to show. I appreciate each and every one of you.

Dear Chaske Spencer:
Thank you for wanting to set the record straight. As a fan of the books, movies and actors, we know stuff like this should NEVER be published or at the very least perpetuated. Everyone has a right to PRIVACY and things that happened in peoples' pasts should stay there...it is THE PAST.
I am so happy that you have overcome an illness and addiction that afflicts many people and that you sought the treatment you needed.
The FANS love all the actors regardless of what is said and we TRULY do not endorse or approve of the behavior of the paparazzi or sleazy tabloids.

Fame can be sooo ugly, it can make you wealthy and adored it can also destroy you and reveal all your secrets and lets face it we ALL have secrets. Chaske has nothing to be ashamed of, it take strength of character to come out and explain yourself when he really didnt have too, its nobodys business so dibs to him. xxxxxxxx

aawww chaske ur such a sweet man , you are very brave and couragous to come out and tell ur story .. if you come on twifans just know that we all love and support u and u kick ass as sam uley !!!! ... i hope u have many other acting oppurtunities after twilight is finished and hope to meet u at a twilight convention soon

I can relate with chaske to some degree. I to have been to rehab and It helps the patient to suceed if they have a strong support group backing them. Thank You Chaske for you forthright honesty and there is nothing to be ashamed of. everone has ther pitfalls growing up and in the end it just makes you stronger.
