Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg has suggested that the
two-part Breaking Dawn adaptation will not be as explicit as
the book.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Rosenberg hinted that she may tone down the more controversial elements of
Stephenie Meyer's final Twilight novel, which includes sex, a
bloody birth scene and werewolf Jacob "imprinting" on Bella Swan's child
Renesmee.
She said: "On the fan site, on Facebook, all the comments are 'It has to be R rated! You have to show the childbirth!
Gore and guts and sex!'. For me it's actually more interesting to not
see it. You know, you can do childbirth without seeing childbirth... it
doesn't mean it's any less evocative of an experience."
Rosenberg added that she has strived to make Bella a more formidable force in the
movies than she is in the novels: "She doesn't have the physical
strength of Edward and all of them. So how do you make the character
strong when she's physically vulnerable? There really is a goal to give
her stamina and other strengths. She really is a role model."
Discussing Kristen Stewart's involvement in the series, Rosenberg called the
actress "tremendous" and "one of the reasons why we got Bill Condon [to
direct]".
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse debuts in the US on June 30 and July 9 in the UK.

This has me worried... I really want to see those scenes how there described in the book... I think A LOT of fans are going to be upset if she does this!

i agree im gonna be soooo disapointed if one them spliting up movies is just flat a bust and two not keeoping to the book cuz poor little role modla crap-stephnie didnt write naythign thats bad she wrote it as a guy and girl would be doing "it" and she did it tastfully so if that lady changes too much based on public feeel good crap she"ll ruin it all for us die hard fans!

ok that just sucks! i mean they have to stick to some of the stuff from the book or there is no point! i mean the whole thing about us loving these movies, are they are putting the books we love on the big screen. they are making them real for us all. we see it all in our minds eye, and then having the movies makes it more exciting and romantic and just awesome.. i mean we all had our own images of the books as we read them, and then they brought them to life for us all. keep the movies like the stories we all love! maybe dont' have the gore of the birth, but you have to have the love (which is their first time)on the island and the baby and all of it. i dont' know if anyone agrees w/ me, but i think you all know what i'm saying. i hope i get my point across. i tend to babble. i agree w/ everyone's thoughts on this! keep it like our beloved book, or it will ruin it for us all!

This is what Bella & Edward have been waiting for & now that it has arrived this F***EN screenwriter women is going to ruin the whole thing!!!
Stephenie PLEASE don't let this women do this you wrote the book we have all pictured in our heads what it should look like on BIG screen this is your baby not hers!!!

I actually agree with Melissa. Do not kill me - we are all entitled to our opinion. I know everyone is going to s*** a brick when Melissa cuts Edward and Bella's first time, you know, when everyone thinks the screen will go black and they'll wake up in bed covered in feathers?? and it WILL happen. i am 100% sure of that because that is how it is in the book!!
"Forever," he agreed, and then pulled us gently into deeper water.
THAT scene will stay true to the book because that is EXACTLY what happens!
And believe it or not, there are tasteful ways to illustrate sex and childbirth. Film makers have been doing it for years. If Stephenie Meyer thinks Melissa isn't staying true to the book, SHE WILL MAKE HER CHANGE IT. And let's not forget that Stephenie is one of the producers of the film so I have a lot of confidence in her that she will make sure the story is depicted the way she intended it to be.

Calm down everyone. It'll be fine. They have to do it so that the movie doesn't get more than a PG-13 rating. We'll still know that Edwaerd & Bella consimate their relationship, it'll probably just fade to black like in the book. And I don't want to see too much gore when it comes to the birthing scene.
